Austin Alumni Javier Delgado Memorial Scholarship

 

The family of Javier “Javi” Delgado, Class of 1982, established a scholarship in memory of Javier who died on March 4, 1996. Javi played football at Austin for four years and one year at Western New Mexico State University in Silver City. He was a huge Dallas Cowboy fan, a doting uncle, and dear brother and son. His family cherishes his “Love you more!” attitude, and wishes to honor him by awarding one $1,000 scholarship this year.

The Javier Delgado Memorial Scholarship is made possible by the Delgado family.

The Alumni Association would like to thank Maria Brooks for also contributing to this scholarship fund.

 

Guideline for the use of the Austin Alumni Scholarships:

1. The Alumni Association Board of Directors will determine the number and dollar amount of scholarships each year.

2. The selection committee will include representatives of the Alumni Board of Directors.

 

Qualifications for students applying

1. Must be an Austin High School graduating senior.

2. Must apply online.

 

Students awarded an Austin Alumni Scholarship must:

1. Attend a University, Jr. college, or community college.

2. Must be registered to gain an associate’s or undergraduate degree.

3. Must be registered as a full-time student each semester.

4. Sign a contract agreeing to abide by all conditions prior to receiving the scholarship.
